Slovak and Czech legislation requires the technology, machines and devices be subjected to both periodical and initial specialised inspections.

Every RTD group has a specific (usually distinct) legal conditions for its period inspecting and testing. Restricted technical devices of category A (RTD-A) furthermore require to have design documentation approved before installation of the device or before reconstruction of the device. 

Every employee who will be operating any restricted technical device (electric, pressure, gas or lifting) is legally required to have professional qualification to operate such device. In case of a reparation of such device, further official qualification is needed.
